Sir Wilfrid Laurier once stated, “I think we can claim that Canada will fill the twentieth century.”² Laurier believed that Canada’s agriculture and natural resource industries would only continue to grow, leading Canada into a prosperous and bright future... [I]t is evident that Sir Wilfrid Laurier’s prediction... was accurate. Canada had and still plays a crucial role as a global leader in several natural resource industries. Canada’s prosperous and flourishing mining, agriculture, and natural resource infrastructure industries unarguably changed the path of history and set the stage for Canada as a global economic and political powerhouse.
