Brothers William, Thomas, and George Lister joined the Queen’s Own Rifles in Toronto. Thomas and George served in the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles (CMR) in France. William served in the 5th CMR until his brothers got him in the 4th CMR so they could all be together. But, both Tom and George were sent back to England because their age and health couldn't take the trenches of France. William then returned to the 5th CMR.
