Nellie McClung was a Canadian political activist who got women the right to vote in Manitoba. Nellie McClung as a member of The Famous Five and also a successful writer. Nellie McClung as a teacher and a mother of five children.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
Nellie McClung started working at the age of fourteen.
As a mother to five children, Nellie McClung has other jobs as well: a Canadian political activist, a school teacher, a successful writer and a member of The Famous Five.
Nellie McClung is a hero to the women's society.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
Without Nellie McClung, women would not have a right to vote and would not be as successful today.
Women would not have an education and hold high position jobs in companies as well as own businesses.
Women would still be treated as nothing with little or no respect.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
Women today have education and jobs and back then women were always at home with no education.
Today women are treated equally with the same respect, the same positive thoughts and kindness as men.
Women struggled everyday with stress and worried expression and today women know everything will be alright and no harm will come with harsh punishment.
